Cannabigerol also known as CBG is one of the more recently popularized cannabinoids found in cannabis and hemp plants. CBG is referred to as the “mother molecule,” as it is a precursor to THC or CBD. CBG concentrations in cannabis plants are often very high during the early stages of the marijuana’s flowering cycle. As the plant matures, the CBG turns into either CBD, THC, or several other chemical compounds. Very little research has been done on CBG but many industry experts, like Steve, believe that it can enhance the entourage effect, and contribute to the efficacy of other cannabinoids like CBD.
